    Mortgage-free Glee! Debt-free and Proud!
    Two weeks of snow isn't going to have that much effect on a whole quarters growth...Blaming the weather simply isn't good enough.

    But it is very British.

    let me rephrase that:

    The countries debt will NEVER decrease

    uhm what? By 2015 the deficit will be at 3% of GDP if goes as planned, which will reduce national debt.

    Labour even reduced the debt from 2005-2008 so Im not sure why you think the countries debt cannot decrease
    Faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

    No it won't. Reducing the deficit to 3% of GDP means that we are still borrowing at the rate of 3% of GDP.

    'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher
  • The trouble with the lack of growth in this country is that too many companies have been moving abroad for cheap labour and taxes, so we have not got half of the manufacturing that we had 20 years ago. eg Cadbury's factory has closed and gone to Poland even though the slimy yanks at kraft said that the jobs were safe here. So it is a double whammy - fewer jobs and less income from exports.
