Don't talk wiith the agents, they're all crooks
Some even post here and share their knowledge and experience to help people. But feel free to generalise.
  • I'm an agent myself (okay recruitment is a different industry) and feel that the generalisation works quite well - I know that there are exceptions, but on the whole agents do a great job or show why they get paid to their customers/vendors/landlords/etc

As well as managing my own portfolio, i also act as an agent for several landlords, and do a jolly good job also. A landlord does not know the full worth of an agent till the s*it hits the fan - its then that we REALLY earn our commission !!!!
  • very true - wish you'd been our agent!
Instead we had a large leeting agency chain with an inflexible attitude, and little interest in the tenants unless if rent was un/paid. EG in the last month there was some terrible rain that caused some flooding, leaking through the livving room window, onto our sofa and some electrical goods of ours. When i phoned to let them know of the leak they were only bothered about condition of the house, and not our personal property! Thankfully there was no serious damage to either, but I dont think the LA had a clue I was worried my DVD player might be broke (even when I spelt it out to her!)
