Help improving my computers performance

Hi I'm trying to improve my computers performance I've got free avast, cccleaner and malwarebytes-I would post a hijack log but I get a message come up about system denied access to the host file and I've got all this stuff in a file do I really need it?,all help gratefuly received.

Comments

  • I would recommend using the registry cleaner that comes with CCleaner and regularly deleting all Internet files with CCleaner.

One of the best system optimizers i use is Tune-up utilities, you can download a free trail to try it out. It can change your computers settings best for its purpose. Also disk defragmenting software will improve system performance. I would take a look at this guide. It will explain a lot better how system preferences and options can improve performance. It's for XP but still applies to windows vista and seven, just that things will be in different locations usually.

Since i am a new user, i cant post links so type "comcast xp optimise" into google and its the first link

Right click, run as admin. host file isn't that important unless you are infected.

Did you disable defender, and uninstall rapport?

  • Thanks don't seem to be able to right click run as admin ,doesn't give me that option ,will do other things that you said.
  • You need to hold shift key when right clicking

You could also upgrade your memory to improve performance. Try running the scanner on the Crucial website to see if performance can be enhanced with an upgrade.
