deceased joint bank account

my mentally ill sister has passed away,we have obtained probate, and have been given a halifax savers accout book in her name[the problem is two people are named on the accout as trustees ut halifax say they opened the accout as a joint account[they were two carers at thecare home] we cannot trace them because my sister changed care homes over the last few years, are they entitled to any monies, because halifax will not release any funds or close the account util they have there signatures, any advice.

i know it will sound daft, but can you trace them through facebook (especially if they don't have common surnames) as half the world seems to be on there. As for them being entitled to any money, if your sister was the named person on it I would hope not, but i'm sure someone will be able to say otherwise
