hamper for nan

Thie hamper thread is great, I actually wish I had more people to make hampers for as they are so personal & thoughtful but I pretty much know what I'm getting everyone/people have asked for specific gifts. I'm rubbish at cooking so dont think I'd attempt the fudge/biscuits as good as they sound & I'm worried I'll mess up the soap bombs. But I'm wondering if I was to do just 1 or 2 hampers would I really be saving any money?
All the pictures look fab but I'm worried that because I'm not very creative mine would look cheap
I am, however, contemplating making my nan a hamper but not too sure what to put in; she's a keen gardener, loves birds (the feathered kind), she always gets loads of bath things & I'm not sure if she ever uses them all. So far, I've thought of;
hand cream
gardening gloves
hot chocolate sachets
nan mug
choc bar
any more/different ideas?

I went to Homebase for my nan and bought her Pink Wellies, Pink Watering Can, Pink Gardening Gloves, Pink Kneeling board, Pink trowel and secateurs and a fat cat ornament, she was delighted with it all. Like the OP's nan she is well into gardening.Our dream has come true...0

A kneeling pad thing for when you're on the ground trying to get the weeds under control... Especially for people with older joints
A bird feeder, small set of cheap binoculars to watch any feathered visitors, an insulated mug for hot tea to be sipped in the garden whilst battling weeds and some individually wrapped cookies (ideal for people on their own as once you open a packet you normally have to eat all of them or they go stale...)DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! What about one of these window bird feeders:

Your nan could pop it on her wondow and see the birds really close! My son would love one, but so would my cats :rolleyes:0 -
For my nan i'm getting her some lovely speciality tea, homemade biscuits but you could buy your nan some of the posh ones (you can get some yummy ones from garden centres and they've only got five biscuits in a pack, so won't get stale) homemade marmalade and pickles but again you could buy her some of the little pots and some lovely writing paper and new teapot. I am also going to try and knit her a tea cosy.
You could fill a mini hamper with her favourite food, ie pickles, fudge, cake, pate, crackers etc.
