The AA Roadside Renewal - Please read

I just got home to find my AA membership renewal form. The cost to renew was £52.50 for basic roadside assistance. I checked on their site and the same deal was around £30. I then phoned up and the lady said she could do the exact same policy for £28. I didn't have to beg, ask or wait for her to offer this - all I did was tell her it was cheaper online and she beat the price.

She said that they offer cheap deals to get "bums on seats" and "if it was fairer and not priced higher for members it would make my job a lot easier"!

Please call them on 0800 435 980 rather than pay the higher amount. It is freephone after all. Just think of all the OAPS and people not on the internet who just pay this amount regardless, nearly double what they can get it for.

Actually it was more a case that I couldn't believe they could charge nearly double for the same policy. I didn't realise though that there'd be so many saddo's on this site picking at posts that are purely intended to help people save a few quid.

If I did work for them why would I come on here and criticise them?

Well you can see from my post that I have only tried to pass on some help. I'm not the one who had posted over 20 messages in the last hour or so, trying to poke fun or look superior to everyone else on the forum. If that's how you get your kicks then suit yourself. And if all you are going to do tonight is sit there trying to create arguments then you are a pretty sad individual.

For the record, my grandparents also have membership with them so I let them know to call them first before paying their renewal next month - I'd be annoyed if anyone (especially those more vulnerable) I know got caught out by this company's policy.
