I have just come off the phone to LA fitness Member Relations and am so frustrated.
I cancelled my membership and the last payment that was supposed to be taken was July. However, they took August and September's too. This was for a joint membership so it was quite a lot of money that they took in error. I asked for it back at the end of September and was finally paid it back on Friday after kicking up a real fuss. I was very disappointed in how this was handled so i called member relations to complain.
Firstly it was not easy to speak to a human being and i left messages but no one got back to me so this was frustrating in itself. But i just spoke to someone who was so unhelpful.
I was told that the matter would be logged but that it wouldnt be taken any further. I asked to be written to with an explanation as to why my refund took so long and was told that they wouldnt write to me and this was as far as it was going. I asked to speak to the guy's supervisor and was told that he was in charge! So i asked to speak to his boss and he told me that i couldnt and that he didnt have one. So i said are you the chief executive of the company and he said no. So i said i would write to the chief exec and he told me that the letter would come back from him as he was delegated to answer all the chief exec's mail!
I think i am becoming a grumpy old woman but i want to take this further but dont really know how to. i have had terrible service from LA Fitness throughout my membership from being told lies to get me to sign up to this now. Anyone got any ideas about how to take this forward?
my advice to anyone else is to stay clear of LA Fitness. (their hold "music" which i have listened to for a LONG time says that they offer value for money - NOT TRUE and yes 200,000 members can be wrong!)

Well you got your money back I would be satisfied with that, doesn't seem to happen often! However if you feel really strongly then Fred Turok is the boss. loads of people at work have had the same problem.
Work set up a special deal with the famous gym company and they ripped nearly everyone in my office who cancelled and all they said is it was your reponsibility to cancel the DD!! what a joke!!
I'm just glad i'm too lazy to go to the gym!0
