Child Tax Credit

Hi, i recieved a letter today from Tax credits and would like a little advice please. I have been claiming and still am £20 Child Benefit for my son and £65 Child Tax Credit. This was while i was on JS Allowance and my Partner is claiming SMP till this April which is £90 a week. I started a temporary job at the end of November which was for 7 weeks and ended in January and i carried on claiming the same amounts in that period. I am now back on JS Allowance and still claiming the same amount.
I got a letter today from tax credits asking for some more information to deal with my tax credits claim. Well i havn't made a tax credit's claim. It does say they was informed by the Department of Work and Pensions i started working.
I was woundering will this mean through the period i was working was i ment to inform them and would the child tax credit of been lowered? Would that also mean i will owe them money now?
I have also see online that you can get fined for not informing them, i honestly thought i never needed to and i can't afford waiting on the phone for as long as i have in the past.
Many Thanks

I don't see what the problem is. Tell them in a letter that is was a temporary job. You have 3 months in which to tell them so you should still be within that time period.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
