I think it's a good debate

It caught my eye because I thought "poor old man is about to be made homeless" so I had a lurk - and the reality was that the gentleman had a home - a care home but was going to have to use the funds from his house to pay for it ( and the OP was after the money for him/herself).
Thanks for the link. That was an interesting read.
I was particularly struck by the reference to the farmer who signed over his assets to his children to avoid nursing fees, as CL says she is planning to do, and ended up in a miserable hellhole, where the staff mistreated him, and none of the family he had enriched bothered to visit him, much less pay for him to live somewhere nicer. A salutary thought!0 -
