Why not stop applying for stuff, run your new bank account well for a year and take it from there. They credit searched your for the current account. They know your payment history and don't want further risk with you yet.0

Fair point. I have made a point of not appling for credit over the past year. The only search I do have is for a current account with said bank.
It's just very fustrating that my accounting has generally been good for years now. I have gross over double the avarage salary (£60Kish) and have masses of disposable income. I don't even run a car !!!!!!!
I know folk will say why not pay existing CC off....well I am, i'm just trying to save the £100 odd interest every month.0
