Eating in Bromyard, Herefordshire (more for the Malverns)

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has recommendations on places to eat in or nearby to Bromyard centre. We are renting a cottage with friends in the near future within walking distance of the town centre.

Based on Streetview, it looks like pretty small town but one or two places look alright for some real ale and decent food (The better looking one I think is "The Bay Horse" and the second "The Falcon Hotel", although the latter has some bad reviews).

We don't enjoy pubs with sports or lager beers on, we're looking for more homemade food and local ale kind of places. Other good restaurant recommendations would be appreciated!

Thanks!

  • Not within walking distance, but the Talbot at Knightwick between Bromyard and Worcester is well-known. Not been there myself, but friends in Worcester go their regularly:

Have asked my sister who eats out regularly in that area.

She says that they always take guests to the "Live and Let Live" over on Bringsty Common (Bromyard - Worcs road) and have never had a bad meal there. Also the "Admiral Rodney" at Martley for better than average pub meals and wonderful views.

She also said "The Talbot" at Knightwick was over-rated and they have had poor experiences there. Alledgedly, someone was recently asked to leave for simply complaining about their meal!!

Personally, I can only recommend the "Shun Fat" chinese takeaway at the top of Bromyard town :o.

    Hope this helps :D.
