MBNA Positive Balance

Options
I've got a positive balance on my MBNA card. Do they still charge to do balance transfers on a postive balance? (I know Egg didn't)

Thanks

  • I believe they would charge the fee on the overall amount you are transferring even though you have a positive balance on your MBNA. The fee is calculated on the amount mbna are paying off. Best advice is ring MBNA to transfer balance to current account THEN use this spare money to pay off the other credit card THEN do the balance transfer.

If they charge (£30) there i no point in doing a balance transfer as I will have to pay a fee on the positive balance (£1000). Rather just use the card for purchases.
