Need letter off bank to confirm they shut account

Hi all

I am applying for Housing ben atm to help towards rent on property.

How ever they have asked about a very old Lloyds TSB acount i once had.

Sadly due to me being young and a plonker i defaulted on this and the bank shut the account down.

Of course i have moved house in the last 7 years since this happened.

So i am wondering how do i go about getting a letter off the bank confirming this has been closed down?

I don't even have the old account number for them to check and all my ID is now at my new address...

The only way is to simply ask the Bank and explain the situation to them. It might be difficult as it is more than 6 years as I believe they don't keep information longer than then. This is why we need to keep old statements!

What do you need the letter to say?

Does the lloyds tsb account not show as being settled on your credit report?

You can write to the following address to ask them to update the informaton if this is not the case:

LLOYDS TSB, CDR DATA QUALITY TEAM, QUEENS ROAD QUADRANT, 1-5, QUEENS ROAD, BRIGHTON, BN1 3XJ

Not checked credit report so dont know.

So will have to look into to this also
