Hi Interceptor2 I thanks for the link to the manual - although the website is having an MySQL headache as I write - I was wondering if I can ask what must be a basic question:
If you finalize an -rw or +rw disk for use on another player is it then possible to reformat the disk or do something else to record on it again?
Thanks.0 -

I have to then buy lots of memory cards. It also has something to do with Mpeg4 or something!!!! Goodness knows but do you think this tesco one would work for this?
Connect a DV Camcorder to the "DV Link" to easily archive camcorder footages digitally in DVD quality to a DVD recordable disc that lasts. Moreover, the on-screen DV Control panel allows basic commands over the DV camcorder using DD-A100X remote control.
Taken from site but it only shows the DD A110x modelMSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0 -

In the end I was in Tescos and couldn't resist so I've found +rw disks will happily play on my Toshiba 330 - no need to do anything to them and there is an easy to use 'erase' feature when you wish to re-use the disk.0 -
i am about to get one of these tomorrow, do they get the thumbs up?Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

i had a previous liteon (model 5006) which i connected my camcorder to and inserted a CDR in the player. Anyway it copied across the footage but when my cousin tried to play it in a VCD player no joy- it even wouldn't work through a pc- I was lead to beleive that it was becuase liteons recorded in a format that would only work with a nother liteon and not a standard dvd player? Can anyone confirm or clarify the issue please.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

I bought one to archive stuff I had recorded to my PVR. I am very happy with it. It works fine. It worked out cheaper to buy them as separates rather than buy a machine that did everything!
I am now making dvds from videotape recordings I made of my children when they were babies - and it is a doddle to use.
When recording dvds you need to 'finalise' the disc (easy, just follow the instructions on screen) in order to play them on other machines. I have tried the dvds in my laptop and they play with no problems.0 -

If your camcorder has a DV out socket you should be able to record straight to this DVD player. You should also be able to connect the DV out to a firewire port on your PC too, and use Windows Movie Maker etc to transfer the video.
I tried this for a fortnight solid and couldn't get it to work at all. I used the USB and all I could get was sound and no picture and it took so long that 2 sets of batteries went down before I could get it finished. Although I got this pc in May it does not have a firewire port.
If I got a card reader would I have to take the hard drive/tower thing apart because if I have to connect it that way it cancels out my warranty.
Just thought the tesco dvd recorder sounded easier but who knows?:rolleyes:You may walk and you may run
