Does it look genuine? There are so many scams about and I don't want to give details if this is a scam.
It is from customerserviceprovider2011@gmail.com
It came to a gmail account which I use frequently.
Would be grateful if anyone could advise whether this is genuine.
Thank you

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
This is the first time I've seen this email, and promptly deleted.
Much appreciated.0 -
It seems to be a new scam as the google spam filter didn't detect it.
You can pretty much guarantee any "validate your account" email is a con if it provides a link or is as crude as this one in asking you to email your password.
One genuine one that provides a link is DynDNS which is rather naughty of them but there is nothing really confidential about their service anyway.0 -
I thought it strange when I received this email, and would be very reluctant to give password.
My spam filter didn't detect it either.
Thanks for your help.
Best wishes0 -
These have been going around hotmail for years...I even got something similar on a blackberry messenger - "running out of usernames..." Uh no, blackberries use a hard coded "pin" duh...-Scott-

Sorry, but if you even remotely considered that an email containing that phrase, and then asking you for your username and password, might be genuine, then you need to be extremely careful online.
Don't be 'reluctant' to give your password-just don't give it at all!No free lunch, and no free laptop

I agree and would never give my password.
Had never seen this email before and it wasn't detected by my spam filter.
Thought I would check on here though.
Thank you0 -
No spam filter is 100% effective. Although I would rate Gmail as around 99%.No free lunch, and no free laptop
