While you are at the interview you need to make sure your address is taken off his claim and get your thoughts on this matter accross to them in the strongest terms......this HAS to be stopped. And i would want to know why it wasn't done back in january when you told them.

What have you been doing with the letters?

And have you followed it up since January? Written to anyone yourself?

I would have called them again each time a letter arrived and demanded to speak to someone higher up, requested written confirmation it was sorted, and then called again if that didn't arrive.

What a swine he must be!

Can some explain how switching your first and second name around would facilitate fraud? I don't want to try it :) I just thought fraud would take a bit more effort.

This is a bit stable-door-ish, but if any more letters arrive for him at your address, I would open them, write across the actual letter 'this person is not and never has been living at this address, please remove this address from your records' with the date. I would then photocopy the letter put it back in the envelope, write 'not known at this address' on the envelope, and put it back in the post.

At least then you have a documentary evidence of your attempts to stop this.

For the compliance meeting, I'd sit down now, with a calendar or diary, and try to reconstitute as far as possible, the dates that you received mail and telephoned DWP about this, so they can check their call records if necessary.

Nice man. Sounds like you are well rid!

Edit - note this isn't legal advice - it is just what I would do.
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.

    Hi everyone.
When i originally sorted it out (or thought i had) they told me to send all the letters back as not known at this address when they come, which i did.
It WAS a benefit fraud interview, the ldy was really nice, i told her everything and she made a statement which i think was believed. They stated that i was claiming benefits and having my husband living with me, after a lot of confusion it turned out the reason I am the suspect and not him is that Im claiming benefits and hes not. Seems he never persued the original claim, so as far as they are concerned hes not te one doing anything wrong i am. Lovely man.
She said someone had reported it in, when i told her it was me that reported it she got very confused lol
Hopefully all sorted now, she said i shouldnt recieve any more letters for him now as the claim the letters where for was never sorted out. Hes been telling me he isnt working (as no maintenence has been paid since the split) clearly this is another lie as well, if hes not claiming any benefits he must be living off something so Ive rung the CSA now to start a claim as well.
