What's going on with Google Earth

Anyone else seen the tiles in the UK with cloud obscuration in them? Norfolk, Lancaster, Southern Scotland.
Seems odd.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

    They are "sensitive" areas where the likes of Aurora & the Area 51 aliens are kept. Wouldn't be a good idea to have them on view to eyes in the sky

    No it's not a weather layer, it's actually on the photo tiles. Quite annoying because the clouds are over the bits I'm trying to look at!

    That's a great image - I'm guessing that the shadow effect is an artefact either of a time delay between the RGB images or, more likely, the result of three separate sensors for each colour which are a small distance apart?

    BTW, if you don't need the absolute latest image for the areas that are cloud covered, you can select the "clock" icon and go back to previous images which, unless you're very unlucky, won't be covered by cloud.
