Tesco Credit Card application

It is common practise.

All credit card issuers have conditions surrounding re-applying and none of them are open about it.

Just get a 0% purchase card from elsewhere and go back to Tesco when that runs out. Simples

Remember these companies are there to make money, they aren't charities. They'd all go bankrupt if they allowed all and sundry to effectively have interest credit from here to eternity.

Thanks again izools but, I understood that once one company had refused a credit card you shouldn't apply for some months to anyone else as there is a greater chance of refusal because of the first refusal. I'm not making sense, am I?

Not true.

Whether an application has been refused or declined is not recorded on your credit file, only the fact that you applied.

You can apply up to two - three times for credit in a six month period without the previous applications affecting the decision a lender makes.

really, wow - thanks. I will check when this Debenhams store card went through and I might have another go at the 0% card though there doesn't seem to many around (according to Martin's section on cards).

I also notice that the information about you under your replies is really heart-warming. Well done after the bancrupcy. You are a top money saver. I'm just paddling in the shadows. Let me bow my head and get it below yours.
