Having managed to clear a card with them and wanting to see if they will give me a loyalty offer, I aint loyal just struggling to find a good home for £5k for the next year.
I cleared my balance in 3 payments over last month, final 1 being on the due date (yesterday) paper statement obviously still at least a week away.
I phone them now knowing it is clear, to find oh no there is £8 on it. What??!!
Residual interest, they had the cheek to try and charge because my last payment was on the due date. I protested, they did back down, but now I have to wait a week for that to be taken off so my balance is nil and they "may" be able to offer me a deal.
If it wasnt for the fact that they are my only option at present for this money, the could stick their loyalty where the sun dont shine for messing me about.

EDIT...
Ignore what I initially wrote
But - do they have a right to charge you this? Maybe...By the payment due date shown on your statement each month, you must pay whichever is the least of:
· 2.25% of the balance shown on the statement (but you must pay at least £5)...0
