overpriced or me being tight?

05 renault grande scenic. 1.6 vvt, dynamique, 47k miles. fsh,tho i aint checked yet. £4995. comes with two year warranty(not checked)and free mots while own the vehicle.

from a family dealer, good reviews. jus im moving soon so will be losing out on the mot for say 5 years.

looks good condition aint test drove yet. its just i was thinking of getting the 1.5dci, which i can get for much cheaper elsewhere, maybe extra 25k on the clock.

so is it overpriced or jus me being tightass. this is up north btw.

Do you realy think this is a good deal? The cost of the MOT can easily be made up with a couple of hours work.

No such thing as a free lunch.

Seems a little expensive, but then it's from a dealer and it'll have a 2-year waranty. In a private sale it would probably sell for around £3,995.

Is this screen price or price he actually realistically wants for it?

My parents got caught out on the free MOT for life, Seems the dealer changed names/owners? one of those..

They would no longer honour the free MOT even though all the same staff worked there.

2 year warranty, Does it exclude anything that wears? Basically covers very little. What is the max claim
amount and how many claims does it allow?

Its too expensive and your moving away from the dealers area, so why bother, it's not a very rare car. Wait until you've relocated and keep on looking.
  • yea i thought was too dear, i aint buying it, i was just looking on the forecourt an i was genuinely surprised when she said 4995, considering its been sitting there 3 months. but werent sure if i was simply being naive.

reference the warranty i didnt take the time to check, no doubt the electrics wouldnt be covered.

Ugh. Mid-2000s Renault? No thanks. Not at any price.

Parkers' Forums are ABSOLUTELY RIDDLED with people complaining about Renaults from this era.

Don't get me wrong, post-2006 cars, and pre-2002 ones are usually fine. Wouldn't have an 05 given to me.

Here, Autoquake, similar car nearly 2 years newer and much the same price:

    www .autoquake.com/used-renault-grand-scenic/1.9-dci-privilege-5dr-diesel-manual/inspid=29805

Give it a few days and it'll be £5000. The prices ratchet down on that site.
