in Credit cards
I'm in a very lucky position, I have never needed credit before, and have always kept my Lloyds TSB Premier account with good "credit"
Unfortunately Lloyds TSB would not give me their AirMiles builder credit card. - Due to lack of previous credit history (so their credit advice, IDAWARE department told me)
Since realising this, I have applied for more than 10 credit cards, all being refused - I'm presuming due to no credit history whatsoever.
On my last application, CapitalOne, I was accepted.
I've since re-looked at my credit report available from Lloyds TSB.
It has gone from Three Stars, down to just one.
I'm presuming, almost certain it's the number of searches in a short space of time. - Since looking into it, I realise, applying to particular companies would have been better.
HOW long will these searches remain on my credit profile?
Martin's article;
Credit Rating:How it works and how to improve it.
states that defaults, and missed payments remain on your profile for six years. - What about these applications for credit.
Thank you.
PS I would post a link to his article, but as my first post, the forum prevents this reference link.

10 searches is rather a lot I'm surprised you got accepted by capital one. Usually I wait between 3-6 months before I do another search-I suggest you leave longer.0

Searches remain for one year.
After six months of abstaining from applications however the previous searches won't have an impact.
In future, avoid more than two searches in a six month period. If you are ever declined again, get some advice on why and ensure whatever the probable reason was, it has been addressed before re-applying elsewhere.
Well done on your application for a capital one card going through - after six months to a year of running that Lloyds TSB might consider you for one of theirsCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
