I blame the full moon.

Even though it's on the wane now. For the past three nights my German Shepherd has been a pain in the bum keep barking at nothing. He usually barks if he hears a car pull up outside to turn (we live at the top of a road last house so usually quite quiet) but he really is doing my head in with his constant "woofing." The more we say NO the more he does it, always having to have the last word. Is he processed/paranoid/or just being a pain!!!

God, that is weird. Our dog has been doing the same too...... She never barks, not for anything other than next door going out to their bin, but this weekend it seems to have been quite a lot. I've just had to go and get her from the garden as she was barking at nothing over next doors fence. And she has been running around the lounge crying at nothing. All rather odd.

I think it goes for the owners too! We have a 'new' dog owner in my local park and she has been horrid the last few days.

It would be lovely to think she would ease up in a few days! But quite frankly anyone who would shout at being told their dog had picked up a crisp bag is probably beyond the moons intervenion (rollseyes).

Another dog walker shouted at me this morning because my 4 month old pup jumped up against his leg and got paw prints on his trousers. He even went to go and hit her with his stick and I shouted 'do not hit her with that stick'. I was trying to grab her and he was moving around and blocked me when she was in arms reach and I said 'please stop moving and shouting and I can grab her, she thinks you're playing with her'. Of course he didn't. And that is when he went to hit her - he raised his stick and I shouted at her. my friend recalled her and she just ran over to her (why didn't I think of that - I just saw the stick and heard the shouting).

To scared to let her off again now.

I worked as a nurse on a medical admissions ward and we used to know when it was full moon by the number of loopy patients we would admit!!

    Poor you that is awful.

My faith in human nature really has plummet recently, its a shame but after this dog I don't think I'll get another unless I have enough land not to go near a public park.

You'd never believe language skills have been in exsistance for over 2000 years when someone would rather hit a dog than listen to the dog owners and just stand still.

Glad you pup didn't hit and hope you get your confidence back soon.

I find it comforting to know I wasn't the only one experiencing this. Flynn is fine tonight but I don't know whether that's (1) because there isn't a full moon any more (2) my hubby is back home tonight so Flynn maybe realises he doesn't need to protect me (3) I bought him a new exciting toy today which he has had a good old chew on and so maybe distracted from any "noises" or (4) the hubby has his usual crap on tele whereas the kids have had quieter video games on while hubby has been on nights the last few nights and this has masked any noise. Whichever one it may be I'm happy as Flynn is as I type asleep and quiet! ;)

I remember years ago btw my gran saying that she hated it when there was a full moon as it made people mad! Perhaps there is something in it after all.:p
