PLEASE HELP Regarding immersion heater and electricity

An immersion running flat out will use around 3kw per hour. Unles there is a water leak and the hot water is running away it would not stay on all the time though.
What sort of space heating do you use?0 -

Then should I get an electrician that is specified in boiler repairing or any electrician can do that? The electrician that the agent nsent over said that they don't deal with boiler at all..
The heating that we have at home is electric one that is fixed on the wall . The source of the heat is water I guess as there is pipe and we can hear water running inside when we switch it on (no sure if this is called central heating) but since our flat is quit warm if we close all the window, we do not need to use heater at all.0 -
You don't have storage heaters do you?0

This has struck a nerve with me for some reason.
79 units per day is MASSIVE. I just dug out our bills (Scottish Power also) and 79 units per day would cost us £263 per month. We pay about £45 per month DD which more than covers our useage.
POINT ONE: Has your meter been read correctly? Occasionally someone should come to read your meter. Has this happened? A zero in the the wrong place will result in a silly bill (like you have). Have a look at your last bill and compare the meter reading that the bill is based on with what you see on your meter. Have you phoned Scottish Power to tell them the meter reading you have?
POINT TWO: Don't worry, there aren't many types of heating systems in the UK. When we say 'central heating' we just mean some kind of heat outlet in each room that is controlled by one central unit. It could be supplied by gas or electricity, doesn't matter. A house/flat without 'central heating' has no source of heat other than an open fire maybe or electric heaters that you buy and plug in to the power sockets. Probably 95% of properties have central heating.
Unfortunately energy billing in the UK is not very straightforward even for natives, if you've come from abroad then it must be a nightmare. I can empathise.
That's it for now...0 -

That's it for now...
We have confirmed with scottishpower that te meter reading is right and we have meter tested , there is no problem with the meter..
I know telling what type of boiler and heater you have got is not a problem to you all as it is kinda common sense .. But I really have no idea as in hong kong we don't use this kind of boiler , So I did 't even know what immersion boiler is until the electrian told me .. And as it is hot in hong kong most of the time so we don't use heater at all...
But ya.. It is really a nightmare. that's why I want to find put the answer of what happened
... Sorry if I haven't given useful information while I am asking for suggestions.... 0 -
Why do you NEVER answer the questions people here trying to help ask you?!!!!POINT ONE: Has your meter been read correctly? Occasionally someone should come to read your meter. Has this happened? There have been many other unanswered questions which makes helping you very difficult.0 -
