I had the interview on Saturday and got an email offering me the job early this afternoon! So they seem to be pretty quick.
That was for the Edinburgh East area anyway.

Really hope you get it marnil! If it gives you any hope, I did the worst in my group for the "Time Capsule" exercise - I was absolutely pants! So there's hope for everyone!
If you don't get it, it looks like they're going to be taking applications for Cencus Survey Interviewers soon too. I'm not quite sure what they would do - I was actually thinking about seeing if I could do both jobs! The extra cash would come in handy!

Well I got my email today and here's what it stated:
"While I am satisfied that you have the skills and experience required to act as an Enumerator the response to the recruitment exercise has been overwhelming and it has not been possible to appoint everyone who met the essential requirements for the post."
I'm very disappointed as I thought I did ok in the group exercise and this response implies it has just come down to numbers.

Your luck might not be up quite yet...have a look at he website http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/census/censushm2011/census-vacancies/index.html
It says they will be recruiting for "Census Coverage Survey Interviews" soon. No idea what these people would do but might be worth a try! I was even wondering if I could apply for more than one job...
