I don't disagree with anything you say :-)
I just wanted to point out that mileage affects 2nd hand values, and there's a good reason for that.
Selina - let us know how you get on - we're all interested here, a) on your behalf and b) cos we're nosey.
  • I bought a 2004/54 plate Astra last October, and it only had 38,000 miles on it.

I was slightly dubious, however it did have a fully stamped local VX dealer service history to back it up.

Sometimes you just find cars that haven't been driven as much as the 'average'.

    Don't buy it, it's a 307.

I've got a 52 plate 206 (had it since new) and it's done around 34000 miles. I keep all the MOTs, receipts for services and whatever parts have been changed - better than a stamp in a book IMHO.
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail

as someone stupid enough to waste cash on not one but two 307 avoid this, both were a year old when bought, first one off the road for 2 months while they waited for a part (indicator stalk common fault at the time) after only 3 weeks then the dreaded engine management light warning light came on and traded it in for another one year old model after months of problems, the second one was a was a 54 plate. cracking deal at the time but in reality complete waste of money had the same issue as the other one same warning light. Peugeot even did an engine rebuild but it didnt solve it, when it was out of warranty we changed it again, Peugeot wouldnt fix it once out of warranty.

Common faults with 307s unfortunately only wished when we bought it we had googled it at the time.

Never ever again, wont ever buy another Peugeot again, and we had had 4 until the mess with the 307.
