Do I owe her any money
Options
My girlfriend split up with me, we didnt live together but planned to. The mortgage was in my name only and she planned eventually to move in. She regulary transfered money into my account towards bills. Now she says I owe her everything back and taking me to court she says I owe her for transactions at atms and in supermarkets etc and even when we went on holiday, Do i owe her the money

It depends on the purpose of the money she gave you. If it was agreed as a loan and she has evidence of that then yes you do, but if you were simply sharing the finances because you were paying the mortgage and she was spending a lot of time at the house, even if she wasn't officially living there, then no. She'd have to prove that she did not benefit from the money in some way I think.Getting married 02.08.14

sounds like you were lucky to get shot of her. I'd tell her to get on her bike. I am fairly sure that asking you to pay her back for every transaction she ever incurred whilst in your presense isn't likely to ever get very far.0

Shopping in the supermarket, etc., no absolutely not. Bills money, assuming she came over to the house a bit, nah, you were planning on sharing finances even more than that, so no. Did she buy you a Rolex? No. Did she LEND you money to buy a Rolex? Yes.
You could write a letter marked *without prejudice* (which means you are not accepting any liability by trying to discuss this rationally) asking her for the date, purpose, and amounts of each disputed payment/cash ON PAPER so you can seek advice. She may not bother, she may come up with a silly list, she may have a couple of valid items, once you know, you can deal as appropriate. Get EVERYTHING in writing though.0 -

i lived with gf yrs ago, my house my mortgage, she helped bilsl with her wage, gave it in my hand, 2 yrs later we split up, i sold house, she went.
i spoke to friend and he said she could ask for a percentage of the sale of the 2 yrs profit i made less the percentage she paid towards household bills/mortage even if it wasnt in writing, she was too daft, and i never heard from her again.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. You may wish to look into 'beneficial interest' in the property, and seek legal advice about whether your ex will have a claim for this. As for money for shopping etc, ignore her, she's talking rubbish. The only thing she would *possibly* have a chance of claiming is beneficial interest if she can show she financially contributed to the home and therefore should be entitled to a share of the property. She'd have a hard job though...Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

If there was no agreement that you owed her this money and she parted with it voluntarily then it's a case of sour grapes - she's realised that she's the victim of her own stupidity.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Just wondering why she transferred money to you for bills when she wasn't living with you or do you mean some other kind of bills - not household?0
