Secateur recommendations.
Last year I had a pair of Wolf secateurs, but although keeping a good edge, they weren't very well made, with the lock moving on and off at random during use and the spring shooting off.
So I thought I would get a new pair this year. I wondered if anyone had been impressed by the secateurs they used last year. Price isn't an issue, I just want a good reliable tool.

Felco are the best in my opinion, not cheap but you do sometimes get offers where they throw in a pruning saw or something.0

Hi, I've used fiskars Powergear for years.... (they weren't called that originally- I can't remember the original name)
Here's a link to what they look like... you can get them from a lot of sites on the internet...

I hope this helps0 -
Many thanks for the suggestions, I shall have a look at both makes. The Felco ones look very useful, as you can get spares for them.0

And you can sharpen the blades...0

Felco - all parts are replaceable. Had mine since college - 20 years, and still going strong!
Also they come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes for different uses and hand sizes, as well as the more unusual - left handers and rotating handles!Greyer by the minute - Older by the hour - Wiser by the day0 -
Another vote for Felco here. Like all good tools, it's worth looking after them and treating them well. Especially don't forget them and leave them outside in the rain for a week like I did.0

Felco are the best I've ever used. I've had a pair for more than 20 years and 2 years ago sent them back to Felco to have them refurbished. This included a new blade, new spring, new plastic coating on the handles - they looked like new when they came back - and I think it cost me £12. I'm expecting they will last me all my gardening days.0
