A guy called at our home yesterday trying to sell cavity wall insulation and loft insulation. It's not a small house and his quotes of £129 each for the two types of insulation seemed to be on the cheap side.
Do any of you know anything of this company or the products that they install?

Thanks for the pointers, guys.
No-one actually used this lot?0 -
Yes I have used them and they did a fantastic job. The address isn't hard to find if you look for it. They have only been registered since the beginning of 2010 but that doesn't mean that they don't have the skills to do the work0

Recommendation is everything. I had someone to install cavity wall insulation and stopped them in the first hour because of their lack of care with my brickwork. I sent them packing. Many firms contract out the install and the guys are all on piece work. This should work OK, but there do seem to be instances of firms trying to jam as many installs into a day as possible. I went on to use another company who, at least for me, did an A1 job! I believe they're the biggest in the UK: Mark Group. However, I guess others will have good and bad experiences of all major traders.0

I've just had a survey for 'free' loft insulation and I was I told that although I'm not on any benefits and don't qualify under the >70 age rule there is a government grant to cover 'households in the North West' outside of this.
My main concern is that I was asked for my NI number as this was required for the company to apply for the grant.
I declined to provide this info although I just said I didn't have the info to hand. Any advise would be appreciated.0
