if you are able to have your car MOTed if you have lost last years Mot?
can they( garage) check them on the computer if i still use the same garage.

Of course you can. Why would the garage need last years MOT?

You don't need it and if you take your car in anywhere within 30 days in advance of the expiry date of its last test they will give you the new one dated to expire 12 months after your lost one is due to expire.

i was gonna use last years garage cause i was hoping they would have a record of me.
i cant even remember the date its due other than some time in feb/march.

You can check your MOT here http://motinfo.direct.gov.uk/internet/jsp/ECSID-Internet-Status-Request.jsp as you don't have the cert you need your V5C (log book).
