After a battery for the above, only needs to last about 3/4 months, have been told that the car is safe to drive but will cost a fortune (more than car value) to get it through the next MOT! Daughter is saving up for a new (to her) car but needs a bit of time! Anyone know best place to get a new battery please!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I second what Vaio states scrap yard or local parts dealer you should easily be able to get a used battery for <£10 and new one for <£250

If your going to scrap the car anyway, buy a new battery, store the old one, and when you come to scrap it, swap the battery over. Will make no difference to the scrap merchant. Then sell the new battery on Ebay, or chack if it will fit the new car and replace the one in that..[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
