Hello,
The wife and i are considering a conservatory and several web sites we have looked at also mention conservabase bases. Has anyone used these? Are they any good, and how much to they cost? The conservabase website is a bit sketchy on prices.
TIA

I used one some years ago when I put up a conservatory for my son. I don't know the make. It was brilliant. Easy to install, minimum foundations required. If I was building another, I would go for it without hesitation. Cost about £800. Worth every penny.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Find out the price and compare it with the cost of building footings and base in the normal fasion.
Then compare it with this thing.
We decided to erect our own conservatory in our last house. At the time I wasn't too confident in building the base myself, so I got my next door neighbour who was a builder to quote for it. This was about 15 years ago.
The conservatory was to be sited on an area of garden that fell away by 4 feet on one side, so, whichever way we went, some sort of wall would have had to have been built.
The steel base that Wickes offered us on its own came to £600. We got the whole base built for £520. That included the footings, all the blockwork, infilling where the fall was with rubble, fully dpm floor etc. When the conservatory was up he came back, put the final screed in the floor and rendered the walls to tie in with the rest of the house.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
