TV broke - can't find receipt

Options
Bought a tv dvd combi as christmas present and it has already broke, paid cash and can't find receipt, do we have any options, store we bought it from e-mailed to say we could take it in and it would be up to the store manager, but not very hopeful of that, any options???

did you buy it with a card? you could take your bank/cc statement into store, or contact the manufacturer.
i'd still try the store, i've found if your polite and curteous then you will achieve far more than stamping your feet.

When you go in be polite and dont start ranting, explain the situation clearly and request they check their system for your sales reciept, its also worth pointing out to them they will have a copy of tv licensing form completed at the point of sale still in store with your name adress etc for further verification.

And this, here, ladies and gentlemen is a good reason to put your correct details and not get all arsey when someone asks you to fill in the licensing form.
