antinsurance is not proper income protection but mortgage payment protection.

Are you looking for proper income protection (PHI) or short term mortgage protection? (or both as a combination is often best).

we just want to know about Income Protection because circumstances might change next year regarding being no longer eligible for sick pay if I start a new job and my wife is no longer in employment.

in which case you should be looking at permanent health insurance. That is the proper industry name for income protection. It gets confusing as some companies have decided to call accident, sickness and unemployment policies income protection when they are not true income protection (like antinsurance mentioned above).

PHI comes in comprehensive and budget forms and different companies review your ability to work differently. Some plans are hardly worth the paper they are written on whilst others are first rate. It isnt possible to compare like for like on premium alone which is why you find so few internet sites offering a range of providers for PHI. It is also not that profitable and the internet sites like to cherry pick the profitable business.

I have mine with Pinnacle and pay £43.50 per month which is the highest cover they do but if I was to find myself unemployed through redundancy I would receive cover of £1500 per month. https://www.pinnacle.co.uk

    Hope this helps !

Pinnacle do not offer PHI. You have a different product.
