HIya & thanks for any help you can give me.

I have been seperated for a few months and claiming benefits (DLA high/low,ESA,Child Tax,Child Benifit,HB &CTB) everything is running ok but i have decided to get back with my husband and he has given his job up to move in with me opposite ends of the country and be a carer until i am well again.

We have informed everyone we can think of would need to know within 1 day of us him moving in with me and they basically say no problem and they will send us forms to reapply or start the process of changing to a married persons claim etc now this is where we have a problem. They all saying it is 4 - 6 weeks once applying and there is up to a 4 - 6 week backlog.

I currently get my money weekly and can budget my bills but not over a break of up to 12 weeks. My husband has applied for carers allowance who have said no more than 8 weeks but all the rest are up to 12 weeks. Is there any sort of loan etc that we could maybe apply for which will help us pay the rent and buy food for our children?

I have cancelled all direct debits/loans already so we shouldnt get bank charges and i put the rent on my credit card for this month but i dont have enough available for next months rent. I have cancelled all luxery items like tv/ sky/ oil heating and sold a few things on ebay etc but i physically cant live on 2 kids child benefit £33(ish)until further notice and pay my bills and don't want to get into serious trouble with them. Does anyone have any ideas that i can use/do please ? Does anyone know of a loan company that we could apply to for help? Thanks for any advice you can give here.

    Hi

I'm sure someone better informed will be here soon, but you can apply for a crisis loan if/when things get desperate. This is paid on the day. It's no interest and repaid from your benefits

I would send a letter recorded delivery to all the benefits offices that you currently are under, it's amazing what i am reading on these threads that some time later the person has nasty letters of owing money, keep copy of letters yourself and never get rid of them,

Your DLA won't be an issue, so you will have that plus CB.

Don't go down the loan company road! What about a budgeting loan, crisis loan from the DWP?
