Stressed - DD in A&E miles away

Hi Guys

Home alone, hubby at work and got a call from my daughters bf, saying shes going to A&E by ambulance.......!!

Have now spoken to her (shes at uni 350 miles away) and she sounds okay, just waiting to be seen.

Im just stressed, never not been there when shes needed me, shes upset and I am too....:(:(:( Im totally supportive of her being at uni, but just discovered the downside and dont like it.:(

Oh what horrible news for you. You must be worried sick.
Does your daughter have someone with her that you trust? Is there anyway you can drive through the night
to get to her, I'm sure she'd want you to go.
    Thoughts are with you

Thanks for your message Klug. Her boyfriend is with her, hes trustworthy - he called me and then i got to speak to her myself. Normally I would just drive (and have in the past) but I dont think its necessary this time after speaking to her. Had she been admitted straight from A&E then Id be heading south already but shes waiting to be seen after being triaged?! Im still stressed and upset though, wish my hubby was here :(

    What's happened?

No point you going down if it's nothing too serious.. although I know my mum is just as bad as I live away from home xx

Well she seemed to have what they thought was a panic attack earlier today, she was seen by a paramedic then. However it happened again tonight, dizzy/faint then struggling to breathe.... so this time an ambulance was called and they took her to hospital which is when I got a call from her bf. Dont think I took it all in first time round, had to call him back and get him to tell me again!!

I think the fact she has been left to wait for a doctor is a good sign and she said the second set of paramedics dont think its too serious..... hoping they are right!!!!!!!!!!!

Is she stressing about exams or something then?

I'm sure she will be okay, try not to worry too much, at least she is at hospital and they can have a look over her :)

    When is hubby home? x

Just had a phone call - shes fine, clean bill of health:j:j:j The Dr is saying its a panic attack and nothing serious..... Relief!!!

She said the nurse was a witch so shes obviously feeling better and shes much calmer now.

There is a thread running at the mo along the lines of why dont you want children - cos they give you more grey hairs!

Thanks for the kind thoughts peeps :):)

Cross posted! She doesnt do exams, does continuous type assessment stuff and I wouldnt say shes stressed overly, busy yes but loving the student life (maybe too much!)

Hes home in the morning, off to phone him now, have to give myself a few minutes between each call, a tad emotional....though now super relieved :)

Not sure anything is to be honest. Chat for about an hour each week on Skype and odd texts and calls; we're very close.

Maybe something will come to light though, you never know....
