recently i have had difficulty in getting my laptop to turn on. Previously i have removed battery cleaned connections and it has started up, but now this has stopped working and it wont start at all. I usually have it going through mains power.
Could this be a problem with battery or the switch?
any advice greatly appreciated.

JMC,
Try this:
- Take the battery out
- Plug the mains charger into the laptop
- Switch on
If it works, your battery is the problem.
Do you have the green LED light come on on the power pack? If not, then could be the power pack. Try borrowing one from a friend to test.
If all else fails, give the manufacturer's tech support a ring as they will go through some diagnostics. It doesn't matter if its not under warranty as after the diagnostics they will try to sell you a call out fee etc which you can just refuse, but hopefully by then you should know what the problem is!0 -
Thanks Mozilla.
I am trying with and without powerlead. Green lights on lap top come on momentarily as though it was starting up but then goes off again.0
