4nts in NYC Valentines Break for 2 £398.50 each inc flights

Options
I hope this can help someone somewhere! I was looking through NYC holidays trying to find the cheapest deals I found a 4 night break for two for £398.50 each inc flights.

Hotel is Astor On The Park and the flights are from Gatwick to Newark on 14/02/2011 coming back on 18/02/2011. Hotel found on cityandshow.com and flights via travelsupermarket with Iceland Express direct.

I thought this was too good not to pass on to others!

    Great price but probably hard work.

    Those not near Gatwick it entails;

    Travel to London (10ppm in fuel these days say £20-£30 each way)
    Stay near Gatwick (£100?)
    Car parking near Gatwick for 5 days (£31)
    Travel via Reykjavik (how long does that add?)
    Get from Newark into NYC (£52 cheapest)

    ...and reverse.
    I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

    not necessarily, as you can get to the airport by national express for around £15 - £20 (if you go from where you live to London (megabus may be cheaper) then book the easybus to Gatwick/ National express bus seperately) Stay in the airport overnight, and travel from Newark to NYC can be done on their subways I think (so if its the same as JFK it was $5 to get through from the airport to the station and then $7 for an all day ticket)

  • An amazing find OP!:j
    I've been to NYC 4 times, & that's the cheapest trip I've ever seen!
    Was going to book up asap but have had to wait until I arrived at work this a.m to see if I could have the time off. Unfortunately I can't as others are off the same week. Gutted. :cool:
    It looks like the hotel price has gone up to £246 from yesterday, but looks like the flights are still available - still a cracking find even with that price increase.
    My OH say's it looks like it is going via Reykjavik, and that it's not classed as a 'Stop' unless you get off the plane. So it could be that you sit on the plane at Reykjavik Airport whilst they refuel, let more people on etc, and then it's back over the UK and THEN across to New York hence the flight being 11hrs.
