When I was asked I eventually decided to get a silver coin from the Royal Mint, came in a nice presentation box that is easy to store.

both my children are christened and had gifts given to them 90% are still in the the boxes as they are not really for use but keep sake.Every one always get these I say offer to get one of these the dress ,shoes ,cake,to do the photos or get some thing that they can have now keep sakes are nice but some times a waist of money hope this helps.

I love the glass blocks, they are lovely.

My son was given a silver train money box as seen in the 2nd link and he loves saving in it! (he's 7 now)

I bought my GD a personalised keepsake box, so she can store all her special things in.

It was from Freya Design but as I am a newbie i am not allowed to post it!

i really appericiate your way of thinking that is present a gift to your grand parents..i really advice you to go photo frame, bibles, books, jewelry, stuffed animals, etc. or Any babyish present.also try to go Christian bookstore from where you get some Holy novel

I bought a beautiful hand crafted guest book off ebay a while ago for a christening present. Was beautiful with the little girls name on the front. All the guests added special messages during the day. A lovely keepsake.
