Nissan Micras!

1 week ago I joked to my colleagues Id sell my BMW and buy a nissan micra. Having actually pondered the cost of road tax, insurance and fuel Im going ahead with it!

I just wondered if anyone could recomend a particular model over another? ie. the 1.0L v. 1.2L v. 1.6L. Ive tried a few insurance quotes and the model doesnt seem to make much difference at all. MPG seems to be the same across the board too unless its a diesel though they are a bit more expensive.

Im looking to spend about £2,250.

So I just thought Id ask if anyone would recommend a particular spec or model based on their experiences. :money:

If the insurance and running costs are similar buy on condition alone.

Nice one owner old dear, Maybe? One tip... Get THEM to drive you 1st, Especially if it means reversing on or off
a driveway. If they need 6000rpm to reverse on and off avoid it like the plague unless they have bills for a new clutch
fitted within the past 5 minutes.

Friends mother burnt 2 clutches out in 7,000 miles in a fiesta. Feel sorry for the garage selling it now, As i had to insist
they repair the clutch, She had only had the car a short time and the clutch had gone.

They tried to say they check clutches before sale, I asked how much lining was left on this one, Which of course he had
no answer. Its impossible to check to see how much life is left. They can only check to see if the clutch slips.

Seems she tried to get them to replace it a 2nd time and they said no, Which i agreed with them, Driver abuse.

My wife had a 2003 1.2 automatic and loved it. Not much puff when it came to overtaking on hills, though.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Don't limit yourself to nissan Micras, have a look around at other little Japanese cars, you might pick up a Yaris cheaply if you're in the right place at the right time.;)
