I notice that the angry poster who was swindled out of his money over an apartment in Hurghada hasn't bumped his thread in a while...
I think he's been on the webworldproperty one and vented there instead.

Lots of people move on after doing up a house GM4L. that wasn't my original intention. I don't regret buying this as I dropped my mortgage by £28k by doing so + the saving on petrol etc.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
. Also my ex husband got his mother to change her will in favour of her other grandson from his previous marriage. His argument was that our children would benefit from my will whereas his other son wouldn't. Ex mil died last July.
I'd want to leave as much as I could to the children. I occasionally joke with them now saying they'd be better off financially if they bumped me off and took all the insurances and half the house each. (just a joke)
Do bear in mind though, you may not pop-off in a nice neat way at 78 and everyone gets to enjoy your generosity.
If you go into a home your assets will be sold off to pay for your care at the rate of a likely £600 a week. That = £100,000 will be spent in just over 3 years.
Many families find there is nothing left afterwards to be divided.
Spend and enjoy whilst you can I say !

If you knew that you were only going to be alive for the next five years, what would you do.
Surely this is a stupid way to life your life, unless you are about 80 already or have been diagnosed with a terminal illness which will kill you in this timescale?
The probability is that you'll live more than five years so, as people have pointed out, you need to keep in mind how you will live when older/ unable to work, not just fritter everything away for a fun five years and then spend another 20 choosing between heating and food.0
