Q re car insurance

Can any of you good people tell me if it's legal not to inform an insurance company if your car is involved in any kind of accident (even running into a gate post on your property for instance).
Then you get the repairs done, new headlights, new cross member, possibly a new wing and new engine covers etc and put the car back on the road, then sell it on to a dealer.
Is this an OK thing to do?
Can't you tell I've bought a dodgy car

Yes it's legal.
You would be breaching the policy conditions, but that's a civil matter, and not illegal.0 -
It could even have happened between insurers, if the car was off the road for a few days. So a quick repair, and no-one to inform.
A minor repair wouldn't be recorded anywhere anyhow, so it may have been reported, and repaired, by the previous owners.
Swiftcover repair with second hand parts as well.0
