i've realized i've got PMT and its getting worse each month!
not so much the physical symptoms , but the emotional side.
I'm very short tempered, have irrational thoughts and do silly things to get a reaction!!
not very proud of myself at the mo, just wondering how others cope! as its affecting my relationships etc

Its not so much how do you cope as how do others cope around you.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -

Its a horrible feeling isnt it, i get and i hate not having control of my emotions. My mum swears that evening primrose oil tablets work for her (or did work for her) but ive never tried them.
What about discussing it with your gp? My gp prescribed me low level antiboitics when my pmt symptoms got really bad, it actually turned out i had pnd, my pmt seemed to continue all month.
hope you get things sorted x0 -
A high dose Evening Primrose Oil works for me (1000mg from Boots), I take it throughout the month, it also helps with sore boobs and gives me glowing skin:) I would say 80% for my symptoms have gone and I was baaaad:o so not a miracle cure but worth a go, best of luck:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I know this is probably not a "solution" but I have the contraceptive impant and am a lot more mentally stable!
I think when I take it out to fall pregnant the OH will run for the hills as I become a demanding, screaming harridan again:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I've only been getting PMT recently. It is horrid. DH is kid, but I notice I'm ratty, and grumpy and that makes me miserable and teary. ...I hear something !!!!!y go through my mouth and then gasp and feel dreadful. I'm not THAT nasty but its NOT me to be mean to my saint of a DH and I really hate it and feel that I need to get to grips with it.
I can't use contraceptive control. I used evening primrose oil last year, successfully for sore breasts so might be worth trying again for the mood and temper. Thanks for reminding me of this option.
OP, I really hope you find a solution and feel better soon.0 -
I sometimes feel like they have stuck a miserable person's head on instead of mine, the PMT gets so bad.
I've read that a herbal remedy called Agnus Castus is helpful in regulating mood around the crucial time. Must give it a try someday! From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
Cry! I am 28 and have had it for years, I get really teary and break out in big spots all over my facefor about 3 day before the launch date. I have now faced the fact that I'm stuck with it, so rather than blubbering everywhere, I go very very quiet and save it all for whn I am alone. One thing that has help with the spotty side it taking Seven Seas hormone balance tablets.Total Wins 2011: Zilch

A low dose anti depressants can help and some GPs will prescribe for just the week before you are due on.
Other things that can help are Evening Primrose, cutting out caffeine and upping exercise.
Hope you find something that helps xx0 -

many thanks for your replies. Have been to see my GP and i'm already on Anti-depressents so are possibly changing them. I've been sterlized, so don't really wanna take the pill, seems a bit pointless!
Have found some herbal 'well woman' supplements from Asda, and have started taking them, so fingers crossed!Toughest form of moutain climbing is climbing out of a rutI WILL be debt free!I WILL be happy!red pen member 40
