Cifas

Options
I recently signed an agreement to move into a house with my mates so decided to apply for a bank account with all three of us to pay bill etc

Anyway we went into nationwide as the two other guys have accounts with them, so he checks my name and notices a record set up from 2004 when I was declined due to CIFAS!

Since then my credit file has been prefect, an I get regular updates from equifax etc, so I know there are no CIFAS on there., but today I was declined due to CIFAS!

So my question is, could the fact he used my old record which had CIFAS be the cause to my problem or would they have defo re-credit checked me?

There is a post (here) on the Cunsumer Action Group website which may be of some help to you.

You could also try the CIFAS website for guidance.

this is starting to make sense now, I cant see anything on equifax, however, when applying for £2 statutory report for both CallCredit and Experian, CallCredit said I had to write in and Experian had to send me out a PIN, even though I was a CreditExpert customer not long ago (so details already confirmed).
