Strange letter from HBOS re CC

Hello

I paid in full and closed my BoS credit card, and today received a letter of confirmation with the usual stuff - (monitor residual interest still to be applied, etc)

The final paragraph states - "Please be advised that we may contact you in due course to discuss your decision to close your account. If no further communication is made, please be assured that your account will remain closed."

Is this routine follow-up customer feedback or might they consider a re-issue of my card?

Bit of background:-

I'd been paying the minimum for about 18mths whilst I sorted my finances, prior to that it had been in default - then cleared about £700 to bring the balance back to zero.

My internal score with the bank is excellent; my external score is shot from about 18mths ago - but I'll just have to ride that out.

Interested to hear what you think.

I still have a Crapital One card (which is cleared in full each month) - but it would be nice to have all my financial products with the one institution (I know not everyone is a fan of HBOS - but I like them)

Regards
DF

If you just got rid I wouldnt have back, although if your account has been in default before dont think your internal score will be excellent

    Fair comment - to clarify - I only want to swop my Crapital One for the HBOS card - still settling the balance in full each month, and;

I missed a couple of payments on the card 18mths ago through a change in personal circumstances, but a default notice was never issued.

So as stated, my internal score is excellent. I know - I checked.

    but thanks anyway

Presumably , that is your Bank of Scotland Current Account behaviour score

are you sure that your credit card behaviour impacts on your current account behaviour score ?

Credit card providers who do not offer current accounts have behavioural scoring and Bank of Scotland offer credit cards to non - current account holders

Did you check your Bank of Scotland Current Account behaviour score when the credit card was in poor health ? and was it different from your current score ? (assuming consistent current account behavior thoughout)

    Yes - current account behaviour

A call centre operative intimated that internal scores are influenced by the operation of credit cards (as well as external scores)

My internal score was poor until 18mths ago - it has climbed consistently since - I would have been obvious to the bank that I was up the creek at that time - charges, etc.
