Problems with refund to US

Wonder if anyone can help with an ongoing saga...

basically, back on 21st aug sold a baby jacket to a buyer in the states. She was buying other things and was a bit slow paying these so item didn't get posted for about a month. For various reasons she eventually decided she wanted to return the jacket and I eventually got this back early October. For some reason paypal wouldn't let me do a straightforward refund so had to refund to paypal email address. This was returned as unclaimed. Since then, despite emailing her on numerous occasions, she has never got in touch. All the way through the sales etc she was very slow to respond to any communications.

Just starting to get very concerned I am being scammed somehow......I'm not that an experienced ebayer so just a bit wary.

Have sent another test (£1) payment today to her paypal today in the hope it will go through OK.

Has anyone any thoughts on this?

Can't quite see how you're being scammed. Paypal is generally extremely secure and provided you never give your password away you'll be safe.

Sounds like she's just changed email address and/or just forgotten about this. I assume it's not a large sum of money?

no, I can't quite see how I could be being scammed either but just getting paranoid!!! ;)

Thing is, it is quite a large amount ....about £50 ...don't think I would forget about that

Yes you could be scammed. Due to the time delay you cannot now refund the original payment which is where the problem lies as a scammer can claim fraudulent use of a credit card and do a chargeback.

However, I am not suggesting that your buyer is a scammer, I am just suggesting that it is posisble to be scammed with this scenario, so to avoid problems as I cannot see a way round this, I suggest you call paypal tomorrow and ask for their advice. They can be surprisingly helpful!

miracle!!!! she has got in contact...next problem is though is that she is now stating her paypal doesn't accept payments, only sends them...... Now wants to know if I can refund her by another method......

Just really confused about the whole thing...she may be totally legit but with only 4 feedback, I'm just really wary:confused:
