....it's crap on an iPhone or Blackberry (and presumably the other smart phones). Any plans to make a pared down version that'll:
1. load faster on slower devices like these
2. use less (very expensive/limited) bandwidth
3. look better on a smaller screen
It's all a bit 20th Century to imagine that the majority of users will spend most of their time accessing the interweb via a fixed PC.

Works fine and fast on my iPhone. Only problem I have is that it keeps jumping back up the top of the page if you try to scroll down before the page has finished loading.0

I actually agree, it is not bad on the iPhone apart from the page jumping when the iPhone syncs etc. I suppose it depends on the software installed/OS of the handset.Best Regards

Hi Generali
We don't have any immediate plans to do this that I'm aware of, but it's certainly something we'd like to have at some point. I'll raise it to the team in the next staff meeting for you for consideration.

Or maybe, just maybe, I have a different opinion to you.
Hardly dozens of people agreeing with you are there - so it can't be that bad.
In my view it's pretty unusable on any smartphone...
If you want an example of how a forum should work on a phone have a look at the forums on housepricecrash.co.uk
This forum used vbulletin so it should be pretty easy to sort out as there are already mobile themes for it.

Couple of other threads here too, both within a couple of days of each other.

My two penneth:
I have an iPhone 3G (so that's a 2nd gen iPhone) and I think this site is a bit (a lot!!) of a pig on it.
So perhaps the newer models, with more grunt in their processing power, are less unhappy with the apparent bloat and clunky junk (needless!!!!) on the right hand side and top of the actual forum?
I would certainly suggest that making a mobile theme available is an excellent idea and long overdue requirement.Long live the faces of t'wunty.0
