Boiler Sparks but Does Not Light

I had this same problem last year. The boiler was trying to light but just kept clicking over and failing to light.

We had been away on hols the week prior and thought maybe it was because the heating hadnt been used . Called the gas people out and they replaced something in the boiler in the kitchen which fixed the problem....the problem is i cant remember what part it was they fixed but i know it cost me £142 !

We had similar and the PCB was replaced under British Gas's policy. Our boiler is about 10 years old. I doubt anyone would try to claim its more sensible to replace a whole boiler than a PCB.

My Potterton bolier had the the same problem - it was the PCB, which was replaced.

It was the valve, part will be ordered for Wed morning. I n the meantime got hot water as using the emmersion, doh!
