Quick question regarding ESA & fit notes..

The computer system automatically sends out a reminder one week before and one week after the date the sickline runs out. It is the claimants responsibility to keep their medical evidence up to date however and not receiving the letters is no excuse no to send them in.
Re: the post directly above - there are two physically disabled people that I work with and quite a few who have mental illness of some degree - I guess it depends on the severity of the condition and how willing the person is to try and overcome it.0 -
Whilst the computer system the DWP uses does issues reminders about sending it fit notes it is the customers responsibilty to send them in on time for payments to continue. Your payment will not be issued if the fit note has expired.
And yes, you do need to continue sending them in whilst you appeal.0 -
When I was in the assessment phase I only got letters if I'd already ran out of sick note - never had reminders. If you run out you should be able to get the doctor to backdate them for you to the date needed. Also useful if they lose/don't recieve a sicknote.
In my assessment weeks I had 4 troubles - twice forgot to send it in (I also forgot to eat and drink, so getting a sick note?), once they didn't recieve or lost it and once I was apparently missing 5 days sicknote in my 3rd week - which is especially odd as my doctor did a month at a time. I only found out about those missing days when I didn't get my week 9/10 payment, I had to send in a sicknote covering those days before I got it.
Anyway I'm rambling! Either something like the google calendar mentioned or else if you have someone who can remind you to get and send off your sicknote, that'll be best.0
