the act of phoning up a broker isn't hard. but making consistent profits is.

i suspect if making 10% a week/ month from trading was that easy we would all have a Ferrari and a country estate.

There are downsides to trading, especially if your day trading and scalping; boredom. Its boring cos I've no choice but to constantly check dozens charts over multiple markets 1000s of times a day and (just checked the charts)check news feeds and news sites hundreds of times a day in a never ending cycle. literally chained to the screen cos the minute you turn your back you'll miss a move(just checked the charts) and the stress of course. At times I absolutley hate it and just have to take a break, occasionally for days on end(checked charts again) it's just determination and committment and a relatively decent IQ everything else can be learned.

I remember watching a TV programme about day traders back in 2000. I remember thinking it was a bad sign when financially unsophisticated people were giving up their jobs to trade. With these gold/ silver threads it look like gold/ silver is overhyped.

yes no doubt alot of them got burned but I would also imagine some are still trading today and doing very well.

19 weeks I've been learning to Trade the Forex market and to date I've made nothing and lost money.
Hindsight, wishing I had made use of a Demo account which I have now with Capital Spreads.
Started Trading with IGIndex working from home and online with Tradeshare Plus where they have a Live room 3 times a day to teach Traders to learn the trade.
It can be very boring like you say especially when the markets are going sideways but, setting up a Channel Trade can be worth it.

I only use the 6 Major charts:
    • AUD/USD 2 Pip spread
    • EUR/USD "
    • GBP/USD 3 Pip spread
    • EUR/JPY "
    • USD/CHF 4 Pip spread
    • USD/CAD "
Reason for this is because the way I've been taught via the Live room (Tradeshare Plus).

Would like to do this full time but, at the moment I need to see some income so a job will have to do for the time being.

Getting up @ 04:00 in the morning to catch some early entries is something I've been doing ever since I started and closing down the computer about 21:00, it makes it a long day.
Determination and motivation I have plenty of and once I can trade like the pro's as described in the book by Mark Douglas 'Trading in the Zone', then there's no stopping me.

Being spiked in then have the trade retrace happens to often.
