Xfr balances to mortgage?

Hi all
Looking for some advice please. A year ago we had an extension built
which no surprise ran over budget by about 7K. We had to manage it
with our c/cards and are left with high balances.
Would it be adviseable to xfr the c/card balances to the mortgage as we are struggling with the repayments on the c/cards? After all it is a growth to the home? Was hoping to manage the card balances but they are not going down very much.
Many thanks for any advice given...

This would mean remortgaging altogether. The interest would be cheaper on the surface of it but you would pay more interest as you would like at a longer term to pay it off. If your credit files in tact why not try for a 0% balance transfer card?
